Chuck Norris doesn’t watch Face the Nation, he makes the nation face him

Pookie and I were watching Face the Nation this afternoon and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee was on being interviewed by Bob Schieffer.   Herein is an exact transcript of a portion of that interview, transcribed by my own hands, with the help of TiVo as I have the short term memory of…well…something with an awful short term memory.  Quit badgering me!  (I wonder if badgers have bad short term memories)

ANYWAY.

Here it is:

Host: Has anything changed in your campaign? Why the sudden attention that you’re getting?

Huckabee: We like to think that maybe the Chuck Norris endorsement.  People are now afraid not to vote for me.

Was that the most awesome thing you ever heard, or what?  If you don’t understand why that was awesome, please go here and read until your eyeballs bleed. It’ll change your life, man.

I had never personally watched Face the Nation before. It is so not my kind of television.  Unless Mr. Scheiffer takes to interviewing the likes of Clive Owen. Shirtless.  Clive, I mean, not Bob.  Although I’m sure Bob is quite hot in that particular way of being buff that elderly men have.

Ok, even I don’t know what the hell I’m blathering on about now.

We were only watching the show because later in the program, Ron Paul was also being interviewed.   He  had a wonderful interview, although, sadly he was not able to reference Chuck Norris.    I’m still voting for him though.   I’m willing to brave the wrath of Chuck Norris (although not The Wrath of Khan)

Tee hee! You’re totally having me on, right? He SAID that? Oh, that is awesome in the extreme! I’ve loved Mike Huckabee since he moved into the double-wide on the lawn of the Governor’s Mansion in order to save the taxpayers money while the place was being renovated. Now that’s class.

A Chuck reference! OMG! Now I just have to go back to the site and read it all over again.

I wonder if there is a farting reference that I can use on Boo.

I cannot BEGIN to tell you how sick I am of this election – and it’s still a fucking YEAR AWAY! Dear God – it’s been like starting to celebrate Christmas on the fifth of July, and I can’t, for the life of me, figure out what the hell they were thinking by starting the campaigns so damned early. It’s gotten to the point where I let the machine answer my phone, even, because – seriously – every other caller (sometimes EVERY caller) is either a campaign worker or, even worse, a recording of the candidate. I’m on the brink here, and I just want it to stop…

I caught the Chuck Norris reference too and I about shit my pants. Like you, I rarely watch Face the Nation, but for some reason, I felt the need to yesterday….. and lo and behold, a Chuck Norris reference straight from the mouth of a Presidential candidate. Made my day.

What I truly thought was hilarious though was that Bob Schieffer had to explain the reference to his audience.

MrsChili — “Welcome to New Hampshire”, as they say. Well, okay, they really say “Welcome to N’aampshaa”, but I digress… the most important election isn’t a year away for you, it’s about six weeks, depending on where Gardner’s dart lands on the calendar.

Oh, and ditch the landline phone. Much bliss will ensue.

I stopped paying attention at the “Clive Own shirtless” part of this post… now I won’t get anything done all day.

Maybe Chuck was impressed with Huckster’s miracle weight loss.
